Adjust print layouts

The design of individual print layouts (for example, invoices or letters) can be customized. For technical reasons, this is not currently possible directly in alfons. There are essentially two options: 1. You can commission us to implement your design templates. 2. You can purchase FileMaker Pro Advanced or download the free demo and edit your layouts similarly to a desktop publishing program.

Below are instructions on how to edit your layouts using FileMaker Pro Advanced.

  1. Download FileMaker Pro Advanced.

  2. Use FileMaker Pro Advanced as a 30-day demo or optionally purchase a license.

  3. Start FileMaker Pro Advanced and open the file Print Templates.fmp12 in the alfons program folder.

  4. Press Command-L and switch to Layout mode.

  5. Use the Layout selection menu to access the desired layout.

  6. Make your desired changes and close the file and FileMaker Pro Advanced.

  7. After restarting alfons, the modified layouts will be available.

Important Notes on Editing Layouts:

  • Future updates of alfons may not incorporate your individual changes. For minor updates, you can continue using your modified file PrintLayouts.fmp12 by replacing your customized version with the newer update. For major updates, where the print layouts are significantly expanded, you will need to make the desired changes again.

  • If you use fonts that are not part of your system's system fonts, they must be installed on all computers where you use alfons.
